This week’s mission required us to make sneaky snack ideas, devilish delights.
I figured other than making a chocolate mug cake, I’d also make some strawberry sauce that would work well with some vanilla ice cream.
The recipe is pretty simple.
In a deep microwave safe bowl, add the strawberries, sugar and lemon juice.
Toss the strawberries to coat.
Microwave at 600W for 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Using oven mitts, remove the bowl and use a spoon to lightly mash the strawberries.
Microwave for an additional 1 minute 30 seconds.
Remove and let it cool.
Let the sauce chill in fridge until ready to serve.
You can serve over some vanilla ice cream or add the sauce to some natural yogurt.
The strawberry taste is pretty sharp. Hubby mentioned that it made him think of strawberry jam. The vanilla ice cream with sauce worked very well.
