Lemon Peppered Tilapia

For fish lovers like me, you’ll enjoy this easy recipe. Only a handful of ingredients.

tilapia1We start by making the marinade.

In a shallow wide plate, grate the zest of one lemon.

Add in the juice of two lemons. No need to remove the seeds.

tilapia3Season with salt and add some black pepper. Taste for the seasoning and adjust accordingly.

Cut the fish fillet, lengthwise and cut into chunks. Dip the fish chunks into the marinade.

tilapia6Let the fish marinate for about five minutes.

As the fish is marinating, prepare your baking dish and preheat your oven at 180°C.

Lightly grease the baking dish with some olive oil.

After five minutes, place the fish chunks on the baking dish.

Bake for 20 minutes or until the fish flakes easily.

Voila, lemon peppered tilapia.

tilapia10Verdict: Very lemony, I loved it, the only addition I would make is add some sauce for the fish, maybe some yoghurt dip.

Instead of baking, you can pan sear the fish chunks, cooking them on a lightly greased skillet for 5 minutes or so on each side.

  • Juice of 2 lemons
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • Salt and black pepper for seasoning
  • 2 medium sized tilapia fillets cut into chunks
  • Olive oil

Instructions

Start by making the marinade.

In a shallow wide plate, combine the lemon zest, lemon juice and the salt and black pepper.

Dip the fish chunks into the marinade.

Marinate for five minutes or so.

Preheat the oven at 180 degrees C.

Grease the baking dish lightly with some olive oil.

Once marinated, remove the fish chunks from the marinade and place on the prepared dish.

Bake for 20 minutes or until the fish easily flakes.

Once cooked, serve over some stir fried veggies and enjoy.
