Homemade Pizza

Finally the last of the pizza series, we can now make the dough and the tomato sauce for the base so today we assemble the pizza. According to me, this is the easiest part. Essentially you can  use just about anything for the toppings from meats like chicken, beef , bacon , sausages even seafood to veggies like bell peppers, tomatoes even fruits like pineapples.

For my pizzas, I decided on the these veggies, a huge red bell pepper and onions.

I had intentions to use both bell peppers but after slicing the red one, I realised that it was more than enough.

pizza2

I had some leftover honey glazed chicken drumsticks which I also used for the toppings.

pizza3

I hardly season my pizzas with much, for me some dried oregano is just enough.

I found the pizza cheese and decided to give it a try, however I wasn’t too excited about the outcome so next time I’ll stick to mozzarella.

I don’t own a pizza crisper, so I just lined my oven tray with some aluminium foil and greased with some olive oil.

pizza7

Remember I had divided my dough into four parts to make four pizzas, you can either use your hands or a rolling pin to stretch out the dough.I prefer using my hands, I’m not as good as those Italian pizza making chefs but I try 🙂

Assembling time.

Starting with the tomato sauce.

pizza9

Sausages on one and chicken  pieces on the other.

Add the bell peppers.

pizza11

Sprinkle over the onions.

At this point, season with the dried oregano and finally grate over the cheese, be as generous as you like.

pizza13

Bake in a pre heated oven for 15 – 20 minutes or until the bread is cooked and the cheese is melted.

Now we can chow down this pretty baby.

The tomato sauce wasn’t as delicious as I had expected it to be, next time I’ll just stick to my marinara sauce or even use ketchup. Other than that the bread was soft and delicious with a hint of cinnamon.

  1. is there another way of cooking the dough first before… adding the rest for those of us who do not have an oven. i only have a microwave :(.

    • Hey, worry not, you can use a skillet to make the pizza. You’ll need to cook the bread first before piling on the ingredients. Here is a link to several ways that you can cook it. Hope that helps.
